When the Duke of St Albans died in 1726, his and his wife’s eldest son, another Charles, became the 2nd Duke.
Murray de Vere Beauclerk, 14th Duke of St Albans currently holds the title, having succeeded the dukedom in 1988.

When Anne died, the title passed to her grandson Francis, his father predeceasing her.
Today, Richard Scott has been 10th Duke of Buccleuch since 2007. He also holds the title Duke of Queensbury, which was inherited by the 3rd Duke of Buccleuch in 1810.

#otd 1675 the foundation stone of Flamsteed House (Royal Observatory) was laid in Greenwich thanks to Charles II's grand ideas & Christopher Wren's great design. The observatory was home to first astronomer royal John Flamsteed & family before many years on becoming home of GMT.
