A Thread on My Favorite The House in Fata Morgana Analysis. I highly recommend these for those who love this visual novel

Both feel trapped by fate through the circumstances in their life, both paradoxically want to be saved by someone but don't feel like they can drag others into their mess. Ultimately both were fairly conflict in trying to struggle for their happiness.

Rika and Satoko are actually pretty similar with each other and their relationship is definitely one of the most interesting, complicated & dependent dynamics in When They Cry as a whole, even just in the original Higurashi.

Minagoroshi is also the arc where Rika is finally in the role of the true protagonist of the story which her personality is fairly different from what being depicted generally.

Rika sees that Rena is hurting, and she's fine with what Rena done, maybe it wasn't right, perhaps it's even a bit selfish for her to keep up those stuff, but she knows Rena didn't do it because she wants to and that's what she understands.

Tsumihoroboshi is the arc that you can understand the overarching themes of what Higurashi try to approah much more prominently, Rika and the club are criticised by Rena for not being able to do anything for Satoshi.

To FULLY break down Bernkastel later on. It's important to know about Rika character and what those values truly imply in her. Belief in predestination, identity crisis and attachment as a form of coping mechanism are all a part of Rika characterization.

Rika/Bernkastel is one of, if not the most ambitious, bewitching & sophisticated characters I've ever had pleasure to experience in japanese media, so I want to break down her character and how she influenced over WTC series to providing a deeper insight on her character.
