Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was actually a "goblin/devilkin" character recycled from another game that got canceled.

It's kind of like how Krystal from Star Fox originated in a canceled game called Dinosaur Planet which got turned into Star Fox Adventures.
