Funtegument part 3 - Dilophosaurus crest
air sac, feathered, and scaly. Unlike what most think, the crest is not a different part of the skull growing on top of the head, it's actually an expansion of the big skull hole (the antorbital) which is normally covered in skin.
One reason I really love the way the oral anatomy is reconstructed in this piece is because of the immediately obvious presence of the glottis, which is rarely depicted in dinosaur paleoart.
It's something that we see in both birds today & non-archosaurian reptiles.
