An odd detail about female Pixls in Super Paper Mario is they all share a blue and green color palette. I'm not sure if that's intentional or a coincidence.

Another fan game idea I had is a 2D shooter platformer starring the protagonist of Donkey Kong 3, Stanley the Bugman. I wanted to see this character re-interpreted just like how Rare re-interpreted Donkey Kong.

I have this tendency with pixel art to try to make tiles as textured and detailed as I can make it, but the end result looks so muddy.

I look at games like Yoshi's Island or Super Tempo, and they both remind me that excessive detail isn't everything.
