I can tell my hiatus was beneficial because the Twitch channel, MMA Squared, and book publishing arms of my studio are firing on all cylinders. Also working on a graphic novel.
The key is acknowledging I experience burnout once a year and planning for it instead of braving it.

Heads up, I’ll be streaming on twitch today at 11am. Wednesday’s will be dedicated to a non-MMA venture: creating a graphic novel!

Thanks for joining me on Twitch today, I was extremely nervous to be back on camera again. Fun talking about Art history and whether finding religion affects fighters’ ability to do violence.

Marina Rodriguez vs Amanda Ribas.
@sandipantsmma @benfowlkesMMA Thank Ben. And you gotta follow the actual cartoon series, where I add witticisms via thought and speech bubbles.
Thanks for the respect, and being included among these fine folk.
I’m on semi-vacation and will return in September, making my book series The Fine Art of Violence, Volume 3
Live drawing the fights on Saturdays
And launching a twitch channel.

Success! My youngest was all in on screaming. The older one probably sensed my fear & bailed out walking back down the trail (at least they embraced fight or fight and didn’t freeze)
The bears ran off. I made the kids continue the hike to the creek and it was a good afternoon.
What's up! This is Chris Rini of @BloodyElbow and creator of The Fine Art of Violence with the #UFCVegas31 live drawing thread.
Follow @RiniMMA for more artwork as we create The FAOV, Volume 3
