@SenyoretSeptim July 1980 Monthly OUT, a comedy issue mostly among other things in it
New blog post! The first post of anime magazine coverage in 1979 is a big one, covering none other than the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series! Handful of interviews with Tomino and Yas, a 67-part Q&A, and more in here, transcribed and in Japanese.

Something similar but this one was never planned to air, more of just a concept. "Space Science Challenge Team(?) Challenger" (宇宙の科学挑戦隊 チャレンダー), created by Ippei Kuri. This one had character designs and descriptions as well as some beautiful images. (Animage 4/79) https://t.co/AV5Oo2wCIR
New blog post as a holdover while I compile 1979 articles: Coverage of 1978's TV special Bandar Book. Only two months of coverage here but still always neat to see something from Tezuka. As always, only raw Japanese text here. https://t.co/338WPcCsh1
New blog post bit early this week! We stay in 1978 with Animage coverage of the Gatchaman comp. movie and start of the second TV series. As with other coverage from this year, it's a bit light because of the fewer amount of issues, but still lots in here!

I don't even need to go through the amount of series that Yanami has been apart of since his debut in 1963. The list is absolutely staggering, and despite me knowing this, it's always such a delightful surprise to hear him if I'm watching through a "new" show.
fun fact: in the harmony gold dub, son goku is voiced by Barbara Goodson, who also voiced Tetsuro Hoshino/"Joey Smith" in HG's dub of GE999
and both characters are voiced by Masako Nozawa over in the Japanese version
and would both later on be voiced by Saffron Henderson again
Absolutely over the moon for this kickass shades Maetel drawing @mrsIockhart did for my birthday!
