Added a background to the complete image to make up for the lack of one from before:

Got to this point about 10 minutes ago.

Something doesn't feel right.

My first cracks at digital coloring via three methods:

1) color fill layers with vector map edits
2) new layers with paint, erase and blur tool edits
3) shading done in pencil, color and highlight added via (2)

2) and 3) feel right, maybe blend for more texture?

2. I experimented with a program called GPlates to make an accurate world map for my comic, seen here. It was an intense labor that ultimately drained me right before deadlines at work took over my life for the past month.

Feels too similar to Earth, but I'll work it out later.
