Some more randoms. Ghost Rider playing fetch, my little bro as Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl and a Cloak & Dagger tribute to the infamous John Lennon & Yoko Ono photo. I thought it would be interesting to invert the usual dark/light power dynamic.
Some sexy Marvel ladies. I was experimenting with exaggerated anatomy inspired by Eric Canete on the Mystique and first Psylocke. The other Psylocke sketches are from a year later and are close to cosplay photo refs. The Spider-Woman is a bad attempt to rip off Alex Maleev.
Some Spider-Gwen. Deleting just this handful of Marvel drawings somehow freed up about 2 GB already.
For posterity, here are some random Marvel characters from 2016. John Boyega as Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch & Vision, unfinished design for an MCU version of Bucky Cap and Luke Cage. I like how I drew Wanda’s eyes and I think the Luke Cage is still a decent drawing.

Apologies to @artofmmignola but I thought it would be fun to ink and color one of the Cthulhu drawings he posted.

Coloring process. Flats. Added some shadows and highlights and a watercolor texture on another layer. Did some slight tweaking to values and a few subtle color holds on the line art. Also reduced the opacity of the texture layer.

After fighting the kaiju and toweling off the blood, Kim’s makeup is rubbed off and she’s got stains in her hair and hands. It’s a tricky thing to color. Sometimes too much visual information distracts from clear storytelling, but I think this works okay.
The first story is “Hybrid Theory” drawn by @Grimonomicon which is about an attempt to create ape/kaiju hybrids to be used to fight the kaiju. Anybody who has ever seen Jurassic Park is sure to suspect that things do not go well.
@MitchGerads This reminds me of a drawing exercise @BenjaminDewey suggested for me one time to crumple up a paper bag and draw it from multiple angles. Looking back at these now, I realize I failed the assignment.
