I love the way how some of the Godzilla KotM concept art looks, like some old time painting of an epic battle or war.

I think the concept art of G98 makes the design work quite well.

More human ask looking, standing more tall and upright, even having the atomic breath and he's more of a direct aggressor.

So from a more casual understanding, feathered Dinosaurs were mainly the small ones, to regulate body temperature, with only view larger ones due to environmental conditions or ancestral reason.
