5T set have been preparing for the next round of the Anthea Bell Translation Prize run by by translating a cartoon strip from French into English. Anthea Bell OBE (1936-2018) was an English translator of literary works from French, German & Danish.

F3 & F4 have been studying the work of Cornish fisherman & artist Alfred Wallis to see how he used simple shapes & earthy colours in his paintings. They thought about why he did this & what effect this created.
What sort of things did he enjoy painting & why?

Our Art Scholars have been using the etching press to produce these incredible pieces as part of their printmaking sessions. Once they selected a still life object they scratched the image onto the surface as part of the drypoint etching process.
