With green you should go for more blueish shadows and with red you should just go for darker red

Quick tip to make your colors pop: When looking for a color to use for the shadows don't just use a darker gradient of the same color (with the exception of red and green) but rather go for a warmer color and then make it darker: For example blue becomes purple and yellow orange
