I love this series, so a bit more appreciation for 30 years of awesome spooky moments. "Eldritch kawaii" is a good way to describe a lot of the bosses. So cute and well-designed, yet so disturbing, especially as a kid.

Years ago, I did an article on the rarest, most expensive Japanese books in English.
End-of-series manga volumes and books with rights disputes were high, but the top ten were ALL horror books, going for easily $90 and up. The reason why varied quite a bit.
