I’ve gotten a chance to play a game unlike anything else out there. But even before the mechanics and cast of characters kept my attention, it was the THE ART!
Check out Yazeba’s Bed and Breakfast, coming out March 2022!
The kind of graphic design my professors told me I would do in my career vs the graphic design I literally did at 10am on a monday for my job
Made this gif so that when I talk on discord, my avatar does too.
Spell art?? Spell art.
For @OMMultiverse spell cards! Can you guess what themes these are for?
Research.
Every story has its design problems to solve. I needed to create a uniform that felt authentic to the setting, felt gender-neutral, worked for many bodytypes and was honestly and most importantly: cool as hell.
The design I went with had to function for 300 pages!
Recognizability:
Characters had to be able to stick out in a crowd, had to be easy to follow during hectic combat moments, and you should know who they are if they're in a panel one inch long or taking over a full page.
This is done with body language, silhouette, and design.
A mini thread about character design!
When drawing SQUIRE, I had to juggle a few important things:
1) Recognizability. Lots of characters and not a lot of room on the page.
2) Time. The characters had to look cool AND be drawn fast.
3) Research. Does this convey what I need?
I somehow remember how to draw???
