Impossible stakes and strong levels of intimacy.
Sound design that perfectly augmented any moment, be it the SFX or the OST itself.
Just a lot of love altogether was thrown into this production and I could feel it as I was consistently on emotional edge.

Bungo Stray Dogs S4

It started fantastic.
It ended fantastic.
The directing was absolutely chef's kiss.
The plot was insane and had me consistently on my toes.
The emotional beats hit well.
And every cliffhanger had me dying.

Blue Lock

Some people complain about edginess. Some complain about the animation.
I just think that the dialog is very very bad. Any moment that could have almost been considered cool or hype was ruined when someone opened their mouth.

The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World

I liked the MC and the arcs look like at their peak execution, it'd have been a fantastic anime.
But sadly, it kind of falls flat and even becomes borderline confusing towards the end with how much it seems like it skips over.

Buddy Daddies

As I'd previously learned with Spy x Family, mixing Assassination work with slice of life makes for a pretty well-balanced show.
Heavy emphasis on family & changing as people, ultimately making this a really heartfelt experience (outside of the gore & all)

Trails of Cold Steel: Northern War

Lots of great ideas and characters that had really cool concepts, ultimately squandered by meandering the plot and not focusing on the aspects that should have been most important. Production wasn't that pretty either.

Vinland Saga S2 1st cour

Production-wise it didn't miss a beat. The story hasn't done much yet, but with characters like Canute, Thorfinn, and Einar you can already see the gears starting to turn.

Tale of Outcasts

Just one of those anime that I found kind of unremarkable. Didn't do much to stick out in a good or bad way, but maintaining a standard of below average throughout. (still one more ep, but that won't change much)

The first new anime of Spring 2023 just dropped, which means it's time to start looking out for them
