Summer's Clover wasn't that bad of a VN outside of the art style tbh

Definitely amongst my absolute favorite games of all-time.

Similar to how I'd say DOOM Eternal embodies the essence of "the" exemplar FPS or Elden Ring with open worlds, I'd say Octopath Traveler 2 embodies the essence of a JRPG, personally.

Moving onto the individual stories before the main plots converge, Throné, Cassti, and Osvald were beyond phenomenal. Just insane emotional experiences.
Partitio, Hikari, Temenos, Agnea, and Ochette aren't super far off either, each having a powerful climax to tie it all together

both more bright and energetic day versions and lower key night versions that use different instruments and change the pace and atmosphere

The previously acclaimed soundtrack and gameplay both get a glow up from the 1st game.

Phenomenal 131 OST where every song lives up to the hype. None are skippable 💪

The story itself was strong for each individual character and they were all well-intertwined.

The crossed-path stories I felt were all amazing and strongly added to their overall dynamics.
