I was today years old when I learned that analysis and publicly gutting (going deep into the details and themes and posting them) an author's work is heavily frowned upon in Japan, which is why you don't see many in depth Japanese reviews. Sometimes becomes a copyright law issue.

What makes it a gem amongst other Muv-Luv entries?
The Trilogy builds an entire knew world.
TDA is a master at geopolitics.
Total Eclipse is THE "mecha" story.
Heavy in the political macroeconomics, private/ public, it was absolutely amazing.
Characters?
Absolutely some of my favorite characters in the series, even the static ones.
VG, Chobi, Vincent, and Stella are the best friends Yuuya could ever ask for. They're mostly static, but with personalities and natural relationship dynamics that make the story flow well!
