Ultimately, I found the game to be gorgeous and full of life

The characters, intentionally uncanny, I find to be pretty compelling upon reflection. (Amelia kino)

For the Gothic Lolita character designs that inspired many works after, I was pleased with seeing as early as 2000

Something I also found super compelling was the meta of the game within a game

The protagonist himself plays an unknown👀 character, capturing the hearts of Heroines, becoming a "VN player" himself. But could becoming too attached to someone that's not real be a bad thing? 👀🤔

Madame Verka is a character I definitely found to be pretty compelling and unnerving.

The protagonist (not naming them) I found to be super engaging with the mystery as a voiceless protag, because not even he could hear his own voice. Who is the protag? 👀

Funny enough, the title screen with the mansion on the left and the Seagulls in focus is not Umineko. Similar title screens though which I found cool

The overall art direction for backgrounds is super gorgeous (whether you like the 2000s gap moe character designs, I can't force)

Without discovering the mysteries of the mansion, you won't be able to complete the game. And each mystery is solved at a crux bad ending—

Which works especially well, due to the fact that (spoiler if I explain it) every bad ending is main-story relevant.
