Berry Hd 1520-1620. Arrived to catch dramatic 180 deg shift in the wind (SSW-NNE) - doesn't happen often! Very few birds on the clearance: Pomarine Skua juv, 2 Bonxies, Arctic Skua ad and a distant skua sp. This Little Auk was just off the platform but vanished when wind changed.
2nd day, an excellent 16 species of raptor through. Marsh Harrier most numerous but a fair few Ospreys (pic) and nice to get 3 Hen Harriers (pic). Cracking pale form Juv Honey (pic) was one smart bird.
Today at Berry Head I saw this quite striking 1w Lesser Black-backed type. A small pale headed bird, paler underwing, pale edging on upperwing greater coverts than I would expect on graellsii. Is it closer to fuscus? I've no experience of them myself.
