Saying hello and feeding the shrimp at work is my favourite morning activity 🦐🙂
One nice thing about moving house last week is rediscovering things like this - a picture of a fish I made in preschool, aged 5yrs 😄
...I think those discoloured things in the ‘coral’ are meant to be crabs 🦀

To celebrate #Fishmas, here is a nice moment from last December -
We were walking along the beach on Moreton Island, and my partner found a stranded #seahorse, a pregnant male.
We quickly got him in the water, waded out and then watched him swim away ♥️

This morning I saw a shovelnose ray with a big bite mark on it! 😦

View inside my juvenile sponges! These are ‘outtakes’ where the dyes didn’t quite work 😅
eg. only 1/4 dyes visible (blue showing cell nuclei), bubble that is weirdly green, a stick-like structure (??) & low fluorescence (pictures grainy).
Hoping for better results next round!
For #SpongeThursday, here's a look inside a juvenile sponge! 🧽
The choanocyte cells (and choanocyte chambers) are labelled with a red fluorescent dye, and nuclei are labelled in blue.
When I first learned about Deinonychus it was depicted as scaly, but now palaeoartists draw it with feathers 🦖🦃
