First day of lockdown in Wellington didn’t disappoint. On short lunch walk I saw a cute young tūī playing, a kawau tūī fly in from Zealandia, three tākapu fishing, and a kāruhiruhi chilling. Also woke hearing kākā out window.

Also saw two types of birds I haven't previously noticed around the harbour. Spotted shag and some type of shearwater, I think.

I never get bored of pointing phone out window on WLG-CHC flights. Pictured: Tapuae-o-Uenuku, Waiau River and Leithfield/Amberley.

Accomodation for night: Boar Inn. It's a rustic hut with old world charms. You can hear kiwi and ruru at night. 4/6
