I saw this somewhere and I can’t find it anymore. What if Inuyasha was the one who’s idea it was to place Rin in the tree? After all he was sealed there for 50 yrs. I wonder if there’s a chance he interacted with Treekyo and that’s why he appears in s1 poster looking at the tree?

However, the most likely scenario is Sesshomaru went to fight the comet with Inu. Rin prayed for her daughters safety, zero found her alone and vulnerable and harmed her. Then Sesshy returned and took Rin. I think this is what happened because we can see the comet in Rin’s shot.

Sesshy could’ve gone out to check on his daughters. Rin then waited for Sesshomaru and prayed, then Zero appeared and harmed her. When Sesshy returned she took Rin to the tree for safety and protection, then he fought the comet. This would explain the slight moon difference. +

Even IF the events in Yashahime weren’t canon, SessRin is still canon. Their twins are canon. Rumiko Takahashi designed them based on their parents Sesshomaru and Rin.
