@SilverSakata1 I love the ones that manage to capture both the lighthearted and darker aspects of the series as well as the sense of community among the cast. Also bonus points if they present art that looks historical to match the setting. Examples of each:
"...hero's corruption arc happening at the same time as the villain's redemption arc... passing each other on stairs"
Now that's what I call a Hunter x Hunter reference! https://t.co/1z22eiJknU
#Uminekospoilers Umineko EP8 VN Spoilers
"What Battler saw before his eyes...was Bernkastel trembling with fear for the first time in centuries."
Can't believe I went from hating Rosa for punching Maria to cheering for Battler to beat this (1000 year old) child.
Still can't really believe how ridiculously good Eva Ushiromiya's writing is. What an absolutely tragic, emotionally devastating character. It might be a bit premature to say before finishing EP 8 but she's definitely on the same level as the other best characters in the series.
Umineko is the next series after Gintama in the ongoing battle to bait @FateSteelTaylor into experiencing peak fiction with hot, well-written blonde waifus

And no he's not the best character by default because "everyone else was a let down". He was always a fantastic character from the get-go, but the ending truly brought the the subtle themes behind his character full circle in a truly satisfying way.
