@Petsuchan that sounds right
Giant Robo also is in Otaku no Video in the theme park scene, which is a very obscure reference to the unused ending of the toku where Robo retires to a theme park
also the missile fingers in Gunbuster come from the toku, right down to the missile emblems.
RIP Eiko Hanamura (1929-2020)
A pioneer in Shojo manga, Eiko Hanamura helped nail the iconic styles that many Shojo manga's use today and is by extension a huge inspiration for how I draw my OC's.
She quietly passed away in her Tokyo home at age 91
Godspeed, Ms. Hanamura!
I'm slipping into the Padoru mania
Padoru Padoru
@180223 The 3 things that got me into mecha and toku are these
Transformers Energon-Cringe yes but I was like 5 or 6 or something when it came out and I thought it was the coolest thing ever
King Kong vs Godzilla and Power Rangers Dino Thunder helped start my love of toku at age 6
this was an AU Version of Sasha who was a android that explored the multiverse with her mecha, Saturn, and aided AU versions of herself across time
I initially scrapped the idea along with my old Multiverse concept but I revised it in a more Ultraman esque manner so she is back
