I realized another mistake I commonly make as I draw a character. That is to make the background just as visually appealing as the character itself. Sometimes it works out, but for the most part, it kinda makes the picture look too busy, thus losing the appeal to draw the viewer.

I'm starting to understand what I'm doing wrong & I realized what was wrong ever since I drew this character of mine. Koyumi. I needed to apply a smoother edge & a harder edge on top everytime I work w shading & since then, I made improvements. This is still a WIP tho. #wip
