#OnThisDay in 1833 the 200 ton British prison ship Amphitrite sank off Boulogne after being caught in a vicious gale. 134 were lost including 108 female prisoners, 12 children, Captain John Hunter and all but 3 of the sailors. #shipwrecks #maritime @RMGreenwich @PlaneteNAUSICAA
