Story’s over,
Bedtime’s come,
Crooning baby,
Sucks his thumb.
All quiet, not a peep -
Everyone is fast asleep.

Alfie asked Mum if she would please make some clothes for Bonting too... She and Alfie looked into the basket where Mum kept her snippets of stuff and Alfie chose a bit with green and black stripes. There was a bit of stuff left over, so she made him a bathing suit as well.
When Bernard arrived, he was so pleased to see Alfie again that he wrestled him to the floor and they rolled over and over. Then they went into the back garden and sat in the Alfie and Bernard clubhouse, which was in the bush in Alfie’s back garden.
Alfie on Holiday
