Had a fantastic first session of a new campaign last night! A high speed airtruck chase, a shootout at a Mr. Sudz laundromat, and interior decoration as an intimidation tactic. All in a chemipunk sci-fantasy megacity setting!

To celebrate the Era of Silence release, I took an evening to do heavy editing on a short story that I had been playing around with for a while. This is the first story about a woman named Alice Talin, and her life in the strange world Vian has become.

Stories in EoS are often about people on the fringes of society working together and harnessing alchemical technology to survive shattered environments and corrupt institutions that seek to undo them. EoS is about survival, teamwork, and making meaning in a world that lost it

Locations in Astael vary from mega city-states covered by glittering city-state shields, the wastelands choked by volcanic ash, and the rare and precious clean air zone. Safe places are diminishing as Tears in reality form both within the shields and remote settlements outside.

Not all can receive augmentations, though. Those born with the genetic condition called Nuralis Syndrome are incompatible with augmentation technology, and others reject augmentation on religious grounds. instead turning to machine craft to adapt to the harshening world.

THE SETTING

The Era of Silence is a period of time in which Vian has been abandoned by the gods that once ruled it. Rocked by climate disaster and the unweaving of fabric of reality, the mortals the gods made persist in new civilizations, adapting and even thriving.

HPless damage is harsh. If you get hit and it pierces your armor, you're Injured. You have quite a few steps til character death, but you need healing and fast. Thankfully, in an age of alchemy, healing is just as easy. Most PCs have. a solid chance of healing an ally.
