Testing various ideas for the head in I am starting to settle in on a design I like!
The new head will cover less of the wearers face for better dimensioning the suit body. Thanks to for doing a writeup on this a while back! (13.10.2020)

After an unknown amount of tiny fixes, the UDIMs are okay on this and the model good to go! For this fine first day of April, have a rough color WIP!

Added details on the retopoed mesh for the lips, nostrils, hand- and feetpaws (main body mesh), the teeth and tongue.
The finer details from the high-res mesh will be baked into the textures of a more animation friendly lower resolution mesh.

Ready for texturing! https://t.co/p48IAO6L4O

The retopoed mesh is very smooth when the subdivision count is increased. Hence I import it back into Zbrush, project the retopoed mesh subdivided to ~50k vertices on the original mesh. Then I fix some details by hand. Retopo (left), Retopo + project (right), at 800k verts. https://t.co/Ko1flOkALy

The sculpting process sure has its own share of interesting views.

A little in-session drawing of our friendly neighbourhood illithid collaboration partner wearing our GMs hat for that session. (yes, tadpole shape is not 5e canon)

From my own pieces it has to be these two.
If I were to pick from what I've seen online from other artists, I would have a tough time choosing! There's so much good sergal art both in this thread and out there!

Ever so slowly getting back into the Looking forward to having the main pieces blocked out and ready for assembly. This time being both easier to print, post-process and assemble.
I have a few other side projects too, but this will be my main go-to!

Felt a bit like unwinding after a long day, ended up drawing for 20-30 minutes before calling it a night. Often I find myself playing around with various brushes and no clear goal, just drawing whatever pops in. This time a appeared!

head remodelling moving forward in
Clearances, screw holes, LED cutouts and fillets will be added once the main shape of all parts are finished.
Eyes will use 35mm glass dome cabochons instead of the originally planned 40mm.
