25 years later, I wasn't quite expecting to be so emotional at his departure but... I guess it makes sense. Without that moment my life would be fundamentally different.

Been seeing a lot of 'surprising Pokémon stats' going around, so let me introduce you to one of my favorites (and one that I just realized during my recent Grass nuzlocke):

Sewaddle has higher Defense than Snorlax.

Silver, the Johto rival, had a harsh & neglectful upbringing under his father, causing him to become malevolent. Through Lance's teachings, he eventually redeems himself, as shown by Masters when Silver catches Ho-Oh; a Pokémon that only appears to those who are pure of heart.

In creating Pokémon, Satoshi Tajiri was inspired by his love of bug catching. One day, he had conceptual artist Ken Sugimori draw the very first Pokémon. Naturally, in true bug-catching fashion, the very first was a ferocious rock dinosaur.

The rest is history.
