I'm looking for books that feel like the same sort of surreal bureaucratic science-fiction / horror as CONTROL! I know the later books in the Southern Reach trilogy have a similar vibe, but do you have any other recommendations?

(1/4) IT Chapter 2 is big budget, swing for the fences fantasy-horror. It comes with the expected pacing problems of fitting a huge amount of content into a single movie, and tonally it flies from brutal real-life horror to humour in a way that, at times feels awkward...
By comparison, here's a similar look from the film Torso (1973), and it's ten billion times creepier.
