Caught up with the latest Inside No.9’s. Very much enjoyed the relentless & intricate high energy clowning of ‘Wuthering Heist’ (had to watch it twice), and the crafty fan fiction power play nightmare of ‘Simon Says’ (mesmerised by Pemberton’s wig). Typically good stuff..!

Watched RACE WITH THE DEVIL (1975). A superb genre flick. Effortless easygoing charm from Fonda & Oates, you quickly fall in love with the characters, so it’s tense as heck when things rapidly go to hell for them. Pulp perfection...👌

I finally watched Soviet Folk Horror VIY (1967), and loved it to bits! A gloriously inventive technical achievement (I have to assume Sam Raimi is a fan), with fun performances and a terrific score. The climactic eye-popping phantasmagoria unleashed is truly a sight to behold..!

Farewell to the illustrator Victor Ambrus, whose highly distinctive work entranced me from an early age. I think that was down to several of his pieces appearing in the Usborne book of How to Draw Ghosts, Vampires and Haunted Houses..!

I hear Jordan Graham’s film SATOR becomes available to stream in the UK from tomorrow. I’ve had several people in the know inform me that it’s a film ‘made for me’, which was nice of Mr. Graham...
