Gideon is younger than Asher and actually looks up to his half-brother. He specifically admires Asher's ability to not really give a damn what anyone thinks of him. Gideon, on the other hand, is constantly worried about other people's expectations.

Sen's ancestor Hinata was a general in her country's main army. She did have magical powers, though nobody ever knew where they came from. Hinata is depicted differently in history books and art than she really was. This is her real look:
