A lot of Sonic Forces' concept artwork are actually paintovers of certain areas at points either in development or of finalized areas. The most notable example of this is the Eggman Empire Fortress battle concept art, where you can see the final game's Imperial Tower & Warships.

There was an unused cutscene in the early script where Sonic & the Avatar would encounter new, bigger enemies in Arsenal Pyramid. Sonic would tell them "Don't be scared, this is your moment to shine!", encouraging the Avatar and inspiring them to fight. (1/2)
