A special Dasien Apocrypha Sunday Edition!

Dasien goes all the way back to the early 90s, before I had even gotten into Japanese art. Back in those days, I was trying to emulate Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld. Then I saw Dirty Pair and realized I had this drawing women thing all wrong!

3 pages. Each represents a different point in my artistic growth. The first is, of course, the old garish color days and is the least dynamic. The middle is a bit better, kind of sloppy, but has a lot more flow to it. The third is the most dynamic and looks halfway professional.

I think the @ArcadiaGrStudio translations take a break on Wednesdays, so let's dig into the Dasien Apocrypha a bit! Today, we have the Parker Lynn Bailey campaign comic from… uhh… 2004??? Yeah, that seems right. It was pre-reboot (which is something else we need to talk about).

The hairbrush panel is from an unfinished page. Also is one modern Das and two classic Das images.

These were drawn over a number of years, and you can see that Noelle got really good. That black suit Das is hot as hell.

More Noelle Stuff!

There were plans for Noelle to do a Dasien/Goldie short story, but it never occurred. A shame, because I loved her interpretations of these characters.

She was also originally to do the Lord Crimson short story from the Parker/Crimson Double Digest.

My friend Noelle was a frequent art contributor in the early days of Dasien. She was also the biggest Goldie fan and liked Rouge as well. I received a lot of art of these two characters.

Apocryphal Cover: Fool's Gold

This may have been the first concept for a Dasien side-story, but I couldn't for the life of me tell you what it was about. I just know that this cover was originally submitted by a fan artist named Noelle, and I asked if I could use it for a story.
