Despite these shortcomings, I think the series is well worth the read, whether you've seen the original or not. It's a good starting point for beginners and I think Ultra fans will appreciate the additions it makes to the lore.
it's not that much of a problem now since the trades are out but I can see how waiting five whole issues just to get a proper kaiju battle would've been kind of annoying. I think the first battle against Bemular is definitely worth it though, the art is pretty great
for one, and I think this is the most common complaint about the series, is that it takes a little too long to get into the "Ultraman vs Kaiju" thing that's generally the point of an Ultraman series.
(thread) so recently I read both volumes of Marvel's Ultraman comic. it's pretty good! if you're new to ultraman it's a fine place to start. there are things I like that it does that the original show didn't and there are things that I feel the original show did a lot better

The anime adaptation is really good but even that doesn’t do a perfect job of capturing everything that made the VN great.
