Using the data-driven Universe simulator @OpenSpaceProj, I filmed my perspective as I flew around the Milky Way Galaxy; curating this abstract interpretation of where we live by making slight tweaks to the render settings. 📸🌌

But where it really *shines*, is with the unlit volume / hull brush. You can just apply any kind of gradient included in the pack, start modeling, and instantly see depth. I never used to use the unlit material since it's hard to understand spatially, but this solves that.
We even designed our brush and palette in VR with #GravitySketch. I could add a button, then literally grab the palette and see how it felt to hold it. There wasn't much guess and check work in Color Space, if it felt right in Gravity Sketch, it would feel right in Color Space.
Our scenes POPPED. And then @annabananastand came up with this idea where every object could have a secondary "Stroke Map" texture that would dictate how color would wash over each object. It added this whole other dimension where it was fun just to watch things be colored in.
If you haven't already, you should check out @Ed7Mad's painted in #VR short story, Dami and Falian. I love the color design in the forest 😍 It's really exciting to see VR environments used like movie sets.

Back in 2016 when I first got into #VR, I once spent an ENTIRE DAY painting one tree. I found it really relaxing, so here I teach artists how to paint a tree in order to understand the #TiltBrush interface more.
