i feel like considering the lore, eeveelutions as a whole should be a lot weirder conceptually

like. to put into perspective how long i've been working on A Fakedex, there are designs i did in 2003 that exist in some form in the current iteration

a less common design pokémon trend i think about a lot is what i call "Alternate Pikachus"- designs that aren't pikaclones, but fill that same pikachu-esque "cutesy mammalian mascot" role for other types

one thing i love about gen 9's designs so far is how many of them are willing to look silly and goofy, playing with proportions and aesthetics in ways that challenge traditional pokémon design conventions

it keeps happening.
