Final shark for #Sharktober2022. Happy Eddie, aka the puffadder shyshark. Shy sharks curl up in a ball and cover their faces w/ their tail, which is how they got their name.

Pelagic thresher sharks are another one of my favorites. Their dramatic heterocercal tails are used to whip and stun prey. A pelagic species outside many EEZs, thresher mortalities from commercial fisheries are hard to track. 29/30 for #Sharktober2022
