Who trained Matisse in the mystic arts? Her dad, of course! Well, sort of. More like a familiar stranger from another time. They met up through tiny video-call-type portals often after this.

I feel like I did Matisse a disservice by introducing her as a gremlin. She is, but more in a subtle way. Normally she’s super chill. Which is great for young leader August who carries too much self-inflicted expectations.
