Castlevania Judgment designs were so wild. I don't think I like any of them, but I almost have some sort of appreciation for just how weird and different they tried to be

I still love how Mega Man X5's localized boss names were based on Guns N' Roses members. I don't even listen to Guns N' Roses, I just think the reference is super cool, these names sound awesome. It's a shame they changed them for the anniversary collection
JRPGs with job systems give you the first impression that they're about choosing the most efective class for each situation, when it's actually all about the cute outfits
Like in FF5, why give Bartz a strenght-focused job when you can turn him into a dancer and have this instead
I kinda miss games having 2D illustrations for the cover art. Not that they don't exist anymore, but nowadays it's much more common to have the box art simply try to replicate in-game visuals since graphics now look a lot better, I really wish 2D illustrations happened more often
