The Paper Mario trophy is based off PM64's promotional artwork instead of his in-game appearance, so he looks a little different than how you'd expect here

While the other Star Fox characters have their 64 designs, Andross got two for some reason: one based off his Star Fox SNES appearance, and another completely new, high-poly model based off 64

Meta Knight's trophy is honestly kind of a mess lol. It's called "Meta-Knight" which is a misspelling, the description says that his first game was Super Star, when it was actually Adventure, and his skin color is a silver-ish blue. And this guy was created by Sakurai himself lol

The Star Fox protagonists all use models based off their appearance in Star Fox 64. Most of the other classic trophies try to use completely new models based off older designs, but these just straight up reuse the low poly aesthetic from the most recent Star Fox game

Meanwhile, Dr. Mario's trophy is based off the artwork of one of his earlier games from the NES and SNES, and it's clearly not just reusing regular Mario's model. Very interesting to see two distinct eras of Mario designs represented here

This one is so fun-looking to me. It's used in the game's intro, so it's unique in this regard, but it also REALLY resembles the 3D model used in promotional artwork in the N64 era Mario games

A few of them were actually made to promote future games, Olimar's simply mentions Pikmin by name, but the Animal Crossing ones not only use their original japanese names, but also simply call their game "future release"

The "classic" trophies of the Zelda characters were 3D recreations of their Ocarina of Time artworks, which is very interesting in my opinion

It's really interesting to look back at Melee's trophies, they were made during the transition from N64 to GameCube, most of them are exclusively made for this game instead of being reused, and a lot of them were unique interpretations of how these characters would look in 3D
