Speaking of love, VIK was what made me excited about this book. Not only did we get to show a trans character in a positive relationship, but she pursued her life goals and arced without it being about her transition, WITHOUT erasing it. I'm really proud of what we did with her.
BUT ALSO Laney is the heart of this book! We get to watch her grow from a selfish asshole into someone who can rely on her friends and family to help her through. THAT'S THE POINT OF THE STORY FOLKS. It's about not being selfish! It's about love!
Laney was our trash fire, and god she was fun to draw in a way that was embarrassing and laughable and heartwarming at the same time. Laney is the shit inside all of us, the selfish "I can do it on my own" piece of id that makes us slog through the worst alone.
So, okay. I just finished inking the LAST episode of #MetaphoricalHER, and didn't expect to IMMEDIATELY feel that loss, so let's go down this path. I want you all to know how cool this thing we made was.
Running a LITTLE late today, but I'll be online in about 15 min! Livestream starts at 1:30, over on https://t.co/IrmWUrDxPi
Oh hey I was in a cabin in the woods for the weekend so I missed my chance to praise @JustinBirch for #LettererAppreciationDay ! This amazing man can churn letters out with the best of them!
Fug it, my art well runneth dry, maybe if we hit any of these milestones I can re-spark something! Thanks to @phillipsevy for passing the #NudityDrawingChallenge idea along!
