Finally, we congratulate graduating student Andrea Hart! Andrea described her thesis as, “…inspired by the works of the pre-Raphaelites such as Waterhouse, Adrienne Stein, & the musical “Hadestown” written by Anais Mitchell.” See more of her work here: https://t.co/x8jibi2tD7
Alumni and Instructor Michela Mansuino’s work “On Earth as It Is in Heaven” has been accepted into “Shelter” an online exhibition curated by Dr. Samuel Peralta! On display through December 31 here: https://t.co/yLhSnP4wlR
Our Workshop with SI instructor and artist Jason Jenkins is now online! The course will explore applying life-painting techniques to photo references, important skills to learn for realist artists working without live models. Learn more and register here: https://t.co/f4teV6G3eC
In the second year students explore light and dark values through linear gestural and massed-based block-in drawings. By breaking down the human figure into lines and shapes students can see how a painting is built from the beginning stages. Demonstrated by student Amal Doqa.
See the finished drawing from yesterday's art demo with Dean of Fine Arts and artist Dan Thompson! If you missed it, you can still watch it here: https://t.co/5DRJRR0Rj8
Parts of our curriculum, such as sculptural classes, were tricky to convert to online lessons. However, our instructors developed lesson plans and assignments that continued to challenge the students and teach vital skills in sculpture, as demonstrated by student Kat Haverkamp.
