@rexasawrus not a moot but
1. sketch out your subject
2. take a textured brush
3. set it to a big setting
4. paint with as much detail as you can with the big brush
5. lower the size
6. paint again with as much detail as possible
7. repeat
8. profit

@NEPHYRUS how i learned: you need to take a textured brush that fits you as much as possible. then, you put it on a big setting and try to get as much detail out with that big size brush as possible, then go to a smaller brush and do it again, then smaller again usually on other layers
