I drew 4 portraits for today’s @nytimes kids section. It was a pleasure to do. Go get this gorgeous issue only in print on newsstands today!
Happy Birthday Edith Wharton! Her book GHOSTS is one of my favorite collections. Her story ALL SOULS is the last story she wrote and is my favorite of all the things I’ve read by her—a masterpiece ✨way to end at the top, Edith! ✨
It’s #PortfolioDay: My name is Summer & I’m an Eisner & Ignatz nominated cartoonist & illustrator. I’ve done work for @NewYorker & @nytimes I’m currently working on a graphic memoir about my mother who was a stagehand & rigger in the rock n roll industry. https://t.co/HtyhdYlrLF
Just a reminder: Because voting for the #Ignatz is done on-line this year I'm posting my Ignatz nominated mini comic on-line for a limited time. I don't want distribution to stop it from getting votes! Read it here & click on link to request a ballot 🙏🧡: https://t.co/gREhiadTIP
I went birding for the first time in over a week this morning & was treated to FIVE sightings of Great Crested Flycatchers—my favorite bird! This “hard to spot” bird was everywhere! 💘
It's Friday! I just posted a new 6 page diary comic to my Patreon about something important that happened to me to recently!

I once sat in the @nypl and drew Nabokov's copy of Ulysses. When they brought it out to me it seemed to sparkle with life. It was so annotated that it was soft like a pillow. As you can see, he even inscribed the date of #bloomsday in pencil on the cover. Wonderful object.
Last night my mind was BLOWN when a bird normally seen in Texas showed up in the Hudson Valley of New York! The Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher was a sight to behold! ✨✨✨✨✨✨
It's FRIDAY! I have a new comic up on my Patreon! Access this now and so much more for a modest fee.
A Beautiful Morning!
