10. The same way shadows ain't always black, highlights ain't always white, they highly depend on ur lighting source or ur color palette!

If u're going for a strong highlight that's very close to white, outlining it by a highly saturated, light color will help it pop even more!

6. Leave the lighting for last/ do it on separate layers

It's much easier to color using your regular base colors then adding your lighting than trying to get the right blue for the skintone,
multiply and overlay your colors and add highlights and reflections after!
