There was one book that melted all our hearts: The Way Home for Wolf by Rachel Bright, illustrated by @_JimField published by @HachetteKids Wilf loses his way but is guided back to the pack by new-found friends. Also introduces kids indirectly to arctic environments and animals
The King who Banned the Dark by @emilyhb published by @PavilionKidsBks has also been longlisted, and we agreed with this decision. Using the visual conventions of both picturebooks and comics, it tells a political story about power, dictatorship and revolution and is funny.
