Just watching @history_under’s film of the American Cemetery at Normandy and recognised the name Elmere P. Wright he mentions. I illustrated him a few years ago, he played baseball a few hundred yards from my F-i-L’s house in Plymouth. Might be of interest to you @kershaw_alex.

I’ve drifted away from baseball over the last couple of years, but some events are too big not to mention. The passing of the legendary #VinScully is such a huge loss to the sport, the memory and history of the game, and the American cultural community at large. RIP Vin Scully.
