The Shape of Water swims effortlessly into top spot on my favourites of 2018 thus far. I’ll have to mull it over, let it breathe for a day or two, but I suspect that before long I’ll be citing it (to all who’ll listen) as Guillermo Del Toro’s pièce de résistance.
